This is a portrait of Bruce Lee made with black Ecoline (a kind of already diluted watercolor, resembles an ink) and a traditionnal watercolor brush (grafite for the scketch) on schoeller cardboard.

It took a hell of a patience and this was my 2nd attempt with this medium (the first was a horse which came all green because I didn't master the medium well enough, and ended in the trash).



You can maybe notice from the hyperrealism that this is from the same period as Lillina's portrait [link] , it means the period of my first *art attempts*, ages ago.

Based on a photograph of course...



PS the scan turned out quite horrible sorry for that

It looks as though the piece is either white or black until I notice the edges. Hard to believe it's watercolor and not a photo. The dark areas which bring out the face. Good use of value to bring out the nose and lips in that the values define them.
Where/when was the reference photo taken?

Hi I think it's a famous old photo, but I can't tell you more details. Only thing I know is that my brother had it hanging on the wall. There was no internet at that time !

Well you're not THAT fat :confused: ???
Anyway it's true, you look like a very young Bruce Lee (maybe they say fat cause you have the "roundness" of youth in your face ;P ) the similarity is indeed striking !!! :love:
